The modular prism attenuator is an add-on to the standard CinCam Beam Profiler. It is based on two uncoated fused silica wedges with polarization-independent design. The prism attenuator allows pre-attenuation of high intensive laser beams. The technical principle is based on the polarization effect by reflection on an optical surface.
The prism attenuator can be used up to intensities of 2 GW/cm2 for pulse laser and 20 kW/cm2 for cw laser. The prism attenuator can be combined with neutral density filters for final power adjustment. The high performance optical design allows precise beam attenuation.
